May 12th - Washington DC
Last day, down another rider (sinclair, who had to go back to boston and grovel). Sunny and nice to start, and good breakfast at diner next to the hotel. DOWN the big hill and back on the C&O for last 55 easy miles. Lots of locks today, and more people and herons as we approach DC. All met up at lock 5 for the last miles in together. Trail a little rougher close to the city, until we switched onto paved capital crescent. Hosed down bikes and took ceremonial Mile 0 photo, then off to our posh condo in dupont circle, only 5 of us left. Somehow that last 15 miles took over 3 hours, but still arrived aroubd 4pm - a record. Nice dinner out to celebrate our feat. 58 miles, 381 total.
